ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 811.010., 811.020., AND 811.040. <br />RELATING TO LICENSING OF AMUSEMENT CENTERS <br />THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />CHAPTER 811.010. DEFINITIONS. (B) Amusement Device. Any <br />electronic or mechanical machine or device, which operates or may <br />be operated by the public by inserting a coin, coins, token, or <br />tokens, therein, which is intended for entertainment or <br />amusement. This definition includes, but is not limited to, such <br />devices as billiard tables, pinball machines, table shuffleboard <br />games, table hockey and soccer games, video games, motion picture <br />machines, and all other electronic and mechanical machines and <br />devices, which operate or are operated for the entertainment or <br />amusement of the public. An "amusement device" is not a <br />"gambling device" as defined by Minnesota Statutes. <br />CHAPTER 811.020. LICENSE REQUIRED. No person, firm or <br />corporation shall operate an amusement center within the City of <br />Little Canada without first having applied for and received an <br />amusement center license as hereinafter provided. Operation of <br />four (4) any or more amusement devices -in a business <br />establishment is prohibited, unless the area occupied by <br />amusement devices is licensed as an amusement center. <br />CHAPTER 811.040. LICENSE FEE. Amusement center licenses <br />shall be issued for one (1) year periods commencing July 1st of <br />each year. The annual license fee is Onc IIundred D..11ars <br />($100.00), shall be based on number of amusement devices as <br />described below, and said fee shall be paid at the time of making <br />application: <br />One (1) to three (3) amusement devices - $100.00 annual <br />license fee; <br />More than three (3) - $100.00 annual license fee plus <br />$50.00 per device for that number greater than three <br />Ills <br />In the event said application is rejected, the full fee shall be <br />refunded. <br />Section 2. <br />This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after its passage and publication. <br />Page 50 <br />
