JAN -05 -1995 14:26 FROM SWEENEY BORER & OSTROW TO LITTLE CANADA <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 818.220. AND 818.280. <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, <br />RELATING TO THE REDEMPTION PERIOD FOR PAWNED GOODS <br />P.05/05 <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE CANADA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. <br />Section 818.220. of the Municipal Code of the City of Little <br />Canada is hereby amended to read as follows; <br />818.220. HOLDING. An item received by a secondhand goods <br />dealer or pawnbroker, for which a report to the appropriate law <br />enforcement agency is required, may not be sold or otherwise <br />transferred for a period of thirty days after the date of such <br />report to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Pawned goods <br />will be subject to the two -month redemption period. However, an <br />individual may redeem an item pawned 72 hours after the item was <br />received on deposit, excluding Sundays and legal holidays. <br />Section 2, <br />Section 818.280. of the Municipal Code of the City of Little <br />Canada is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />818.280. REDEMPTION PERIOD. A person who pawns an item <br />shall have at least two months to redeem the item before it may <br />be sold. <br />Section 3. <br />This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after its passage and publication. <br />PASSED by the City Council of Little Canada this day of <br />, 1995. —" - <br />ATTEST: <br />Joel R.
