She felt that given the <br />upcoming road project, it seemed like a good idea to proceed with <br />water main at this time. <br />Residents of Lakeside Court were expressing their concern with <br />the project. The City Administrator clarified his earlier <br />statement that staff would not be recommending installation of <br />water main to that area at this time unless those people were <br />requesting it. Those present from Lakeside Court indicated that <br />they do not want City water at this time. The City Administrator <br />indicated that we would provide a "T" to serve that area to <br />provide for the installation of water main in the future. <br />The City Administrator asked for a show of hands from property <br />owners with Keller Parkway addresses. Eight of ten people voting <br />indicated they would favor the installation of water main in <br />conjunction with the road project. If the road project did not <br />go, they do not feel water main should be installed at this time. <br />One of the residents asked a question regarding the proposed <br />County road project. The City Administrator explained that the <br />County will be looking at a cold in place recycled project for <br />the roadway. The proposal would be to have a 32' wide paved <br />surface with two 11' driving lanes and two 5' paved shoulders for <br />pedestrians. Based on the County's initial review, they feel <br />that this project is feasible with minimal impact to trees and <br />existing properties. Specific project details and impacts will <br />be discussed in greater detail with County officials at an <br />upcoming meeting. <br />There was some discussion among the residents as to the need for <br />the road project and whether or not they favored paved shoulders. <br />Some indicated that no road project was needed and that they <br />preferred the road the way it was to control speed. Others felt <br />that a pedestrian path around the lake was necessary from a <br />public safety standpoint. Another resident stated that they <br />thought Keller Parkway should be made one -way which would lessen <br />the need for paved surface area. Another resident said that a <br />stop sign should be installed at Keller Parkway and Lakeside <br />Court. Others commented that they did not want a stop sign in <br />this area. <br />Dean Hedlund stated that he was not in favor of a Keller Parkway <br />water main project and asked if he could be included on the <br />Lakeside Court project in that his driveway comes off Lakeside <br />Court. Staff said they would evaluate this possibility. <br />The residents asked if the meeting on the Keller Parkway road <br />project could be held before the improvement hearing. The City <br />Administrator said they would try to accomplish that, but could <br />not guarantee it due to the improvement process that must be <br />followed for the water main project irrespective of the roadway. <br />He stated that if the improvement hearing was held prior to the <br />road project, the approval of the water main project at that time <br />Page 30 <br />
