OVERTIME & COMPENSATORY TIME <br />City Administrator, Parks & Recreation Director, and Public Works <br />Superintendent - These employees are paid on an annual salary <br />basis, therefore, exempt from both overtime and compensatory time <br />requirements. <br />Park & Recreation Assistant Director and Park & Recreation <br />Program Coordinator - These employees shall be paid on a monthly <br />salary basis and shall not be entitled to any overtime <br />compensation. <br />All Other Regular Employees - All such employees shall be <br />entitled to pay at the rate of time and one -half for all hours <br />worked in excess of forty (40) hours per week. In lieu thereof, <br />the employee may elect compensatory time off at the rate of one <br />and one -half hours compensatory time for each hour worked in <br />excess of forty (40) hours per week. Employees are required to <br />have the prior approval of their supervisor or department head in <br />order to work overtime. <br />Use of compensatory time shall in all cases be subject to the <br />needs of municipal service and prior approval of the employee's <br />department head. Each department head shall be responsible for <br />providing the City Administrator with an accurate accounting of <br />all such hours worked by an employee. This section is subject to <br />the following exception: An employee who works in different job <br />functions within the municipal service in both a full -time and <br />part -time capacity shall not be entitled to any overtime for work <br />performed as a part -time employee until such employee's total <br />hours worked (both full and part -time) in a work week exceed <br />forty -eight (48) hours. Thereafter, such employee shall be <br />entitled to pay at the rate of time and one -half for all hours <br />worked as a part- timer, which cause his /her total hours to exceed <br />forty -eight (48) hours, with payment of such overtime hours to be <br />based on his /her rate of pay as a part -time employee. <br />It shall be the duty of the City Administrator to obtain from <br />department heads and to maintain on file accurate records for all <br />employees, showing the amount of compensatory time accrued and <br />used by each City employee. It shall be the duty of the employee <br />to provide an accurate accounting of compensatory time during <br />each pay period. <br />Compensatory time may be accrued to a maximum of forty (40) <br />hours. <br />Pay for Emergency On -Call Duty <br />Public Works Employees will rotate on -call duty as determined by <br />the Public Works Superintendent. On -call duty consists of the <br />employee carrying a pager and answering after -hours call -outs. A <br />13 <br />
