Hanson <br />Attached for adoption are the following amendments to the City's Personnel Policy which reflect <br />the conversion from a Vacation/Sick Leave program to a Paid Time Off (PTO) Program. These <br />amendments include: <br />Adoption of Paid Time Off Provision; <br />Adoption of Short Term Disability Provision; <br />Deletion of Sick Leave Provision; <br />Deletion of Vacation Provision; <br />Amendment to Severance Pay provision to refer to "deferred sick leave balance and <br />provide for reduction in Severance Pay if deferred sick leave is converted to PTO <br />as addressed in the PTO Provision; <br />Two additional amendments are being proposed. The first is to clarify that Opt Out payments <br />apply only when an employee opts out of full family medical coverage. The second is to require <br />that part -time employees accruing benefits be required to participate in Long Term Disability <br />(L'I'D) insurance coverage similar to the requirement that they participate in Short Term <br />Disability (STD) coverage. <br />1 <br />
