cj41 - 29friB2
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Dave Harris, Public Works Superintendent.
DATE: April 21, 1995
RE: Fill Permit - 155 E. Viking Drive
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
On Wednesday, April 19, 1995 and Friday, April 21, 1995,
inspections were made of the above - referenced property relating
to the proposed filling. After inspecting the property and
consulting with Harlan Olson of Bonestroo, I am recommending that
we grant the fill permit contingent on two factors. They are as
follows:
* The current curb box is damaged due to use of the
property. It must be dug up, replaced with a longer
one (since the City will have to have access to the
water service), and the water service must be placed
at -grade upon completion of filling.
* The materials to be filled must be of a sand and /or
dirt quality. If any other materials such as clay or
rock are used, it could render the ground impervious to
water which could cause ponding problems. Currently,
the water does not pond or sit, but filters through the
ground quite readily.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
DBH:kpv
Page 67
