Hanson <br />At our 1993 goal setting session, one of the principal <br />assignments was to develop a Mission Statement for the City. A <br />committee consisting of former Mayor Ray Hanson, Fire Chief Dick <br />Boss, former Parks & Recreation Commission Chair Ken Wehrle, <br />Council Member Steve Morelan and myself were to meet to prepare a <br />draft for consideration by the Council. A number of meetings <br />were held and various draft statements were considered. Mayor <br />Fahey was brought into the process after his election. At our <br />last meeting held on March 13, 1995, the attached draft of a <br />Mission Statement was finalized for your consideration. <br />A process for adoption is now needed. I would recommend the <br />Council make any changes it deems appropriate. We could then <br />forward the revised draft to the Planning Commission, Parks & <br />Recreation Commission, Community Pride, and City staff for their <br />comments. Upon receipt of their input, the Council could then <br />finalize and adopt our Mission Statement. <br />If you are in agreement with this process, we will begin right <br />away. <br />JRH:kpv <br />Enclosure <br />Page 64 <br />
