MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING
PLANNING COMMISSION
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
MAY 11, 1995
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop
meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of
Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the llth day of
May, 1995 in the Council Chambers of the City Center
located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Acting Chairman John Keis called the meeting to order
at 6:08 P.M. and the following members of the
Commission were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Dennis Carson
Mr. Steve Garske
Mr. John Keis
Mr. Dan Knudsen
Mr. Fred Schletty
MEMBERS EXCUSED: Mr. Scott Barraclough
Mr. Gene DeLonais
ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner
Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst.
COMPREHENSIVE The City Planner suggested that review of the Comp
PLAN Plan begin this evening with a review of Rice Street
issues. The Planner noted that the moratorium which is
in effect on the City's B -3 Districts expires at the
end of this month.
The Planner pointed out the area on Rice Street just
north of Hardee's. This area had been designated as
auto - related commercial initially. However, the
Council indicated that they did not want any additional
auto - related commercial along Rice Street. The land
use plan now reflects the Council's position that the
remainder of the undeveloped land along Rice Street
develop as regional commercial.
Knudsen pointed out that the Planning Commission made a
recommendation for this specific parcel.
The Planner reported that the Council reviewed that
recommendation and then modified it.
Page 80
