NORTHWEST ASSOCIATED CONSULTANTS, INC. <br />4800 Olson Memorial Highway, Suite 202, Golden Valley, MN 55422 <br />Telephone: 763.231 .2555 Facsimile: 763.231 .2561 planners @nacplanning.corn <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Little Canada Planning Commission <br />FROM: Stephen Grittman <br />DATE: March 4, 2014 <br />RE: Little Canada - Zoning Code Amendment - "Family" Definition <br />FILE NO: 758.09 - 14.02 <br />Attached for the Planning Commission's consideration is a draft "housekeeping" <br />amendment which would result in a minor modification to the definition of the term <br />"family" as included in the City's Zoning Code. <br />Presently, the definition of the term "family" states in part that maximum <br />occupancy limits as stipulated in Chapter 4 of the City Code may not be exceeded. <br />Chapter 4 of the City Code addresses "traffic" and thus does not include any provisions <br />related to occupancy limits. In this regard, the proposed amendment simply replaces <br />the incorrect reference currently provided in the Zoning Code with a reference to the <br />"applicable building code." <br />Planning Staff recommends that the Planning Commission approve the amendment as <br />written. <br />c: Kathy Glanzer <br />Steve Westerhaus <br />Lee Elfering <br />1 <br />
