Hanson The work on the water tower is scheduled to begin on June 1. Before then the contractor needs to know what the City wants the top of the tower to look like. Currently there is a small logo on the north and south sides of the tower and "Little Canada" is written in block lettering on the east and west sides of the tower. A picture of the current logo and lettering has been included with this memo. We can put the same logo and lettering back on the tower for no charge or we can upgrade the look at a cost to be determined. Staff believes the logo should be made larger. The thought is that a logo around twice the size of the existing one would look nice. Another option is to change the font of "Little Canada ". Staff has requested some sample depictions with different fonts from SEH and those will be shown at the meeting on Wednesday. One example is included with this memo showing the larger logo and a different style font for "Little Canada ". Yet another option is to incorporate the logo and City name into one and only have it 011 two sides. Two of our neighboring cities, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights, have gone this route in recent years. A picture of each is attached. Tliis would eliminate the ability to see which city's tower it was from two directions, but it does clean up the bowl part of the tower. It is not known how it would affect the price but that will be determined prior to Wednesday's meeting. Staff would like to hear input from the Council on this matter and reach a consensus in order to be ready for the project. 1
