MINUTES <br />QUIET <br />ZONE <br />STUDY <br />PRESENTATION <br />MINUTES O1' THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 14, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14th day of <br />May, 2014 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Michael McGraw <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Public Works Supt. Mr. Bill Dircks <br />Parks & Rec Director Mr. Jim Morelan <br />Cable TV Producer Mr. Kevin Helander <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-5-80 — APPROVING THE MINUTES OF <br />THE APRIL 23, 2014 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS <br />SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that this past November the City Council <br />commissioned a Quiet Zone Study as a result of the increasing number of <br />issues relative to railroad traffic through Little Canada. He indicated that <br />City Hall has been receiving more calls on the issues of train whistles, <br />length of trains and blocked crossings, as well as train car safety than on <br />any other issue that the City has dealt with. The Administrator reported <br />that the City's ability to influence railroad issues is very limited, and many <br />of the concerns being expressed will have to be dealt with at the legislative <br />
