MINUTES <br />STATE BOND <br />FUNDING <br />FOR QUIET <br />ZONE <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 28, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 28th day of <br />May, 2014 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesencr called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ABSENT: Council Member <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />City Administrator <br />Cable TV Producer <br />City Clerk <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Michael McGraw <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Mr. Kevin Helander <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-5-89 — APPROVING THE MINUTES OF <br />THE MAY 14, 2014 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS <br />SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution adopted. <br />Mayor Blesener thanked State Representative Isaacson and State Senator <br />Scalze for their efforts in obtaining State bonding approval of $2 million <br />for the improvements necessary to Little Canada and Shoreview railroad <br />crossings so that quiet zones can be declared at each of the cities' <br />crossings. Blesener noted that Little Canada recently had a study done <br />that estimated the cost of improvements at the City's six railroad crossings <br />at between $1.3 million and $1.6 million for new lights, gates, and <br />medians. Blesener noted that these are significant costs for a city the size <br />of Little Canada to absorb. Of the $2 million allocated, Little Canada has <br />
