FIRE DEPT. <br />BUDGET - <br />CONTRACT <br />UPDATE <br />MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 28, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 28th day of <br />May, 2014 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Council Member <br />City Administrator <br />Fire Department <br />Fire Department <br />Fire Department <br />Fire Department <br />Fire Department <br />City Clerk <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Michael McGraw <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Joel R. Chief Bob Liebel <br />Mr. Rick Boss <br />Mr. Tim Boss <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />Mayor Blesener reported that the purpose of tonight's workshop meeting <br />is to review 2013 budget and statistical information with the Little Canada <br />Fire Department as well as discuss a number of other Fire Department - <br />related issues. <br />Fire Chief Don Smiley began by introducing the Fire Department Board of <br />Directors that are present this evening, and indicated that Directors Randy <br />Graczyk and Kevin Keenan could not be present. <br />Smiley indicated that Larry Jones retired from the Little Canada Fire <br />Department in January of this year. There are one or two members who <br />have indicated that they may retire in the next year. Smiley reported that <br />the Department is currently at 30 members, and when the additional <br />retirements occur, will likely seek replacements for those members. <br />Smiley reported that new members of the Department are required to <br />participate in Fire Fighter, First Responder, and Hazmat training.
