Box 643 <br />North Branch, MN 55056-0641 <br />RE: Notice of Violation and Abatement - 2894 Vanderbie <br />Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cadwell: <br />Complaints have been received regarding a public nuisance violation on your property at the <br />above referenced address. Upon inspection of the property, the following violation was noted: <br />Grass not maintained in appropriate manner plus excessive weeds present on the <br />property — Municipal Code 601.030(h) <br />If this is not corrected by Sunday, June 22, 2014 the City will take the necessary steps to abate <br />the nuisance pursuant to Section 601.080 of the Little Canada City Code. (Text Below) If not <br />corrected by June 22nd, city staff will be requesting the City Council to authorize the abatement <br />of this nuisance violation during their meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014. If <br />all required corrections are not completed by that date and the City Council has authorized the <br />abatement, staff will proceed with correction work on Thursday, June 26, 2014; or as soon <br />thereafter as practical. If the abatement is ordered by the City Council and abatement work <br />proceeds, all costs of the abatement together with a fee in the amount of not more than 25% of <br />the cost to abate the nuisance shall be imposed, except that in no event shall the administrative <br />fee be less than $50.00 shall be assessed for collection on the property taxes, <br />601.080. ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE BY COUNCIL. If, after service of notice of <br />intent to abate nuisance, the person served fails to abate the nuisance or make the <br />necessary repairs, alterations or changes in accordance with the direction of the Code <br />Enforcement Officer, the City Council may cause such nuisance to be abated at the <br />expense of the City and recover such costs against the person or persons served. To <br />cover administrative costs necessarily incurred in the abatement and assessment <br />procedure, an administrative fee in the amount of not more than 25% of the cost to abate <br />the nuisance shall be imposed, except that in no event shall the administrative fee be less <br />than $50.00. As to any such costs, the City Council shall direct the City Administrator to <br />extend such sums as an assessment against the property upon which the nuisance existed <br />
