Hanson
The City of Little Canada Minnesota has been working with the CP to improve crossing safety
on the St Paul subdivision, because of the dramatic increase in rail traffic. The City has obtained
State of Minnesota funding to help install new railroad signals and upgrades at the six crossings
within the City. The improvements will allow for the City to establish a quiet zone after the work
is complete. The City is requesting the preparation of construction cost estimates to allow for the
agreement process to continue based on the Summary of Work schedule included on the second
page of this letter.
The roadway layout will remain the same with two lanes of traffic and possible center medians.
The quiet zone notification will be sent under a different cover letter.
The City understands that there is a long lead time for signal installation but would like to target
the 2015 construction season for this work.
If you have any questions, contact me at 651-766-4040.
Sincerely,
ote
Ianson
ity Administrator
5
