51.5 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.l i ttle-canada.mn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: September 4, 2014
RE: City Hall Remodeling Work Scope
MAYOR
13111 131esener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Reis
Michael McGraw
Shelly l3oss
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Oertel Architects has prepared drawings and James Steele Construction, Inc. has priced
the improvements noted. (See attached report from JSC). The report is a little difficult to
interpret without access to the plan set. However Dick Naughton from JSC and the
design professionals will be at Wednesday's workshop to review this information in
greater detail. We will also be having a staff meeting to review this information so you
can consider their input as part of the decision process (staff was also invited to attend the
workshop if they are interested).
The total of all work listed is $410,550. We had a place holder in the budget of $150,000
for remodel work plus another $35,000 for replacement of air conditioner units. These
numbers do not include update to the cable system which will be funded from another
source. (Some of the Council room improvements could also come from the cable
budget.)
The goal of Wednesday's workshop should be to refine the desired work scope to enable
us to move forward. (This does not mean we have to settle on the exact project if more
information is needed.)
