Hanson <br />As you are aware, in 2009 the Legislature amended State Law relative to the Truth In <br />Taxation process, eliminating the requirement that the City hold a separate Truth In <br />Taxation hearing. The law requires adoption of the 2015 Budget at a public hearing <br />which may be a part of a regularly scheduled Council meeting. <br />In the past the City has combined its two regular December meetings into one, and has <br />held the Public Hearing for budget adoption at that meeting. Consistent with that <br />practice, it would be staff's recommendation that the Council hold its regular meeting on <br />December 17, 2014 and cancel it's regularly scheduled Decemher 10 and 24 meetings. <br />Staff would further recommend that the Council call a public hearing to adopt the 2015 <br />Budget at the December 17th meeting. <br />
