10. The Fire Department and the City Council held joint workshops during
2010 to review the Fire Truck Replacement Program. The result of these workshops was
a revised Fire Truck Replacement Plan and the annual funding of the Fire Truck
Replacement Program has been included in the City's Capital Improvement Budget. As
part of this process, the Fire Department has agreed to contribute 50% of their charitable
gaming profits for 2014, net of the 10% tax, to aid in the purchase of fire equipment.
These funds will be transferred by the Fire Department to the City. The City will place
them in the Fire Equipment fund and they may only be used to assist in making fire
equipment purchases that are mutually agreed to by the City and Fire Department.
11. The Fire Department also identified other capital needs and a contingency
reserve totaling $34,844 for 2014. The Fire Department will be reimbursed for the
budgeted 2014 capital expenditures upon submitting the City proper documentation of
the expenditure or need for reserve draw. The Fire Department shall continue to update
its five year Capital Improvement Budget on an annual basis and submit the same to the
City by August 15th of the current contract year.
12. The City and the Fire Department have agreed on a Fire Relief
Funding/Benefit Increase Program that is attached hereto. This program will require the
City to provide an additional $16,000 of contribution to the Fire Department for the
Relief Association in 2014. (That payment will be made within 30 days of execution of
this agreement by both parties.) This program is intended to be in place for the years
2015 through 2019 and will be made part of those contracts unless cancelled by either
party pursuant to the plan's notice requirements.
WITNESS OUR HANDS AND SEALS, this day of October, 2014.
SEAL
SEAL
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
By
Bill Blesener, Mayor
By
Joel Hanson, City Administrator
LITTLE CANADA FIRE EPARTMENT, INC.
By
Don Smiley, Chief
By
Kevin Keenan, Secretary
