Hanson
The terms of office for Patti Sullivan and Dave Miller will expire on December 31, 2014. Both
vacancies are for three-year terms.
The City has received a letter requesting reappointment from Dave Miller. Patti Sullivan has
decided not to reapply. A letter of interest was also received from Sharon Darling (see attached).
The Parks & Recreation Commission Interview Committee consisting of Council Members Keis
and McGraw, the Parks & Recreation Commission Chair Patti Sullivan, and the Parks &
Recreation Director. The consensus of the Interview Committee is that Dave Miller and Sharen
Darling should be appointed to fill the two Commission vacancies.
If Jeff I-Ieikke is appointed to the Planning Commission and the consensus is to not allow I-Ieikke
to serve on both Commissions, it would he staff's recommendation that the Council authorize the
advertisement of the remaining two year term that I-Ieikke will be vacating.
Please also note that the updated Parks & Recreation Commission Ordinance calls for the Mayor
to make a recommendation for Parks & Recreation Commission Chair. Given Mayor Blesener's
absence, Mayor -Elect Keis will make that recommendation at Monday's meeting, with the
Council making the actual appointment. The Commission will select their own Vice Chair at
their first meeting in January.
1
