improvements. For the last decade this 12 -acre parcel has sat vacant, undeveloped and unsightly to our
communities and surrounding neighborhoods.
While we strongly support your commitment to increase transportation funding and are very
appreciative of the investments the State of Minnesota has made to the 1-694 corridor in recent years,
we also believe that the time has come for funds to be allocated to replace the Rice Street Bridge and
upgrade the interchange. This long overdue project is very important to the overall quality of life in our
communities and critical to businesses.
We have been well -served by our local legislative delegation and ask that your administration work
closely with Sen. Bev Scalze and Rep. Jason Isaacson, Ramsey County and our communities in making
this long -promised and often -delayed project finally become a reality. We urge you to add the Rice
Street Bridge/I-694 Interchange project to your list of transportation funding priorities.
Sincerely,
THE CITY OF SHOREVIEW
Sandra C.
