MAYOR
John Keis
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
Michael McGraw
Tom Fischer
Christian Torkelson
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 551174600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048 ADMINISTRATOR
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: March 25, 2015
RE: JJ's Hospitality — Request for Liquor Licenses
In discussing the City Attorney's report relative to the creation of an On -Sale Restaurant -Event
Center Intoxicating Liquor License with John Sonnack of JJ's Hospitality, Mr. Sonnack
expressed concern with the phrase included in 703.035.(6) "or for failure to notify the City, in
writing, of an Event". (See attached.)
Based on this discussion and upon further reflection relative to the need for the City to be
notified about each event, it would be staff's recommendation that clause be eliminated from the
ordinance amendment as it would be somewhat onerous for City staff to administer.
Given the Council's questions relative to Quinceaneras, Mr. Sonnack also provided an
description of such events in order to clarify that these are family events. (See attached.)
