We proposed a screening solution to them. They then met with select
residents who are represented by Mike Strub. They discussed our proposal. We then met
with Gary Rosten and Mike Strub this past Tuesday, May 5th. They propose a different
solution and after a while we were able to agree on a plan. We will be adding six new
Colorado blue spruce trees. Greg and Mike also agreed to our proposed fencing, they
are in favor of the black polyethylene fencing.
Regarding the fencing I contacted Mike McManus from the Alcohol Gambling
Enforcement Division for the state of Minnesota. Mr, McManus informed me there was no
height requirement for fencing use for any events where alcohol is present The fencing
just has to be contiguous to the building where the alcohol is originated from.
Our planned nights of play are Monday through Friday. We also will be planning to have
six tournaments held on weekends throughout the year.
Our current CUP includes broom ball, boot hockey, horseshoes, volleyball, and bocce
ball. We are asking to amend the CUP to include Bags and Body Ball.
We are not going to exclude any of these games from the CUP. Although we have no
plans to utilize the rink this winter we want to reserve our right to play in the future. We
had no negative issues with our one night of boot hockey this past year.
As for control of the fenced in area there is always a staff member present to run and
supervise the game areas, In addition to the supervisor a server will constantly be
walking from the bar down to the playing areas. In addition to the server we have a
bartender inside. On a side note there are only 24 players present during bags
Leagues.
The Horshoe league is run by Dennis Littlefield. We have spoken to Dennis and he will
be taking responsibility for supervising his players in the game area. In addition to Dennis
we will also have a server going between the playing area in the bar and our bartender
will be in the bar.
I would like to add that without the fencing we have had no issues with liquor
compliance. We will also post signage stipulating that no liquor is allowed outside the
