Crly`o
-l;anada
515 Little Canada Road, tittle Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Keis & Members of City Council
FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: May 5, 2015
RE: Purchase of Furniture for Public Works Facility
MAYOR
John Keis
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
Michael McGraw
Tom Fischer
Christian Torkelson
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Staff put together a plan for furniture at the new ,public works facility. Innovative Office
Solutions holds the state contract for office furniture so staff worked with a representative
to pick out the desks, tables, chairs, and filing cabinets. A proposed layout and price list
is attached. The cost of the proposed furniture and installation is $23,981.89, The budget
number for furniture was $25,000.
Staff also researched wash machines, dryers and microwaves. A quote was received
from Warners' Stellian for a wash machine, dryer, and microwave as part of the quote for
the City Hall appliances. The prices were right in line with prices from other area
appliance centers. The washer/dryer combination cost is $1619.96 and the microwave is
$149.00. The appliances were included in the equipment budget, which is $68,200 for
2015. The existing refrigerator at City Hall will be moved to the public works facility
once the new refrigerator arrives, which will save approximately $800.
Staff recommends approving the purchase of office furniture, microwave, wash machine,
and dryer.
