Estimate 12667205062015.pdf
From: "Dave McKenzie" <dmckenzie@sehinc.com>
To: "Joel Hanson" <joel,hanson a(7,ci.Iittle-canada.mn.us>
Cc: Jskagecomcast.net
Sent: Thursday, May 7, 2015 4:16:48 PM
Subject: Re: Quiet Zone
Joel,
The agreements are for the railroad signals only , no roadway work. This is to satisfy the 5(i)
requirements,
Some of the changes that MnDOT are recommending are not required to meet the FRA quiet zone
rules. They have put the City in a awkward position.
The roadway work costs are attached. In summary the roadway improvements are:.
Woodlyn Ave
S. Owasso Blvd
Little Canada Road
Demont Ave
County Road B2
County Road B
Total
$0,00
$18,000
$15,000 to $41,000
$16,600
$48,000
$29,500
$127,100 to $153,100
County Road B or County Road B2 must have road work so the risk index numbers work. The other
roadway improvements are for increased awareness but they do not help the risk index numbers
directly.
The last budget that was put together only shows curbs for County Road B, based on the City's
decisions. I would recommend that the City allocate $100,000 for the roadway work and decide later
which crossings get treatments,
Dave McKenzie, PE I Project Manager
i
