CONTRACT FOR FIRE PROTECTION <br />CTION <br />2015 <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RAMC.SEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada is authorized by law to provide fire <br />protection for all of the property in said City, and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittle Canada Fire Department, Incorporated, is a volunteer fire <br />department, operating as a nonprofit association under the laws of the State of Minnesota <br />and owns certain fire equipment, trucks, eta,, for fighting fires, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Little Canada and the Little Canada Fire <br />Department, Incorporated, hereinafter referred to as the City and the Fire Department, <br />respectively, in consideration of the following provisions and covenants, do hereby enter <br />into this oontract and agreement on the day and date hereunto subscribed. <br />1, The City hereby engages the services of the Fire Department to answer <br />fire calls and fight fires, to generally to provide fire protection to public and private <br />property, within the City of Little Canada commencing January 1, 2015 and terminating <br />December 31, 2015. <br />2, The Fire Department agrees to answer all calls for service directed to it by <br />the public or Ramsey County Dispatch for assistance within the legal limits of the City <br />including those calls involving accidents with injury requiring emergency medical <br />responders, <br />3. The Fire Department will provide Awareness level services for hazardous <br />materials incidents. Hazardous materials services beyond Awareness level will be <br />provided by the State of Minnesota. <br />4. The City agrees to pay to the Fire Department for its services during the <br />period above specified, and the Fire Department agrees to accept for its services during <br />the said period. Payments shall be made on the following basis: <br />a, $335,8$4 shall be paid in quarterly installments. The City will issue the first <br />quarterly cheek immediately following the first City Council meeting of the contract <br />year. Subsequent quarterly payments will be issued immediately following the Council <br />meetings preceding April l5, July 151, and October 15`. <br />b. $31,000 or the "required contribution" as calculated pursuant to statutory <br />requirements for deficit retirement associated with the fire relief association, whichever is <br />greater, shall also be paid in quarterly installments for Little Canada Fire Relief funding. <br />The payment of $31,000 is intended to be in place for the years 2015 through 2019 and <br />will be made part of those contracts unless cancelled by either party pursuant to the <br />plan's notice requirements. The Fire Relief Funding Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A. <br />1 <br />
