MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 12, 2007
~;9PPROVAL OFA CHANGE ORDER WITH T. A. SCHIFSKYFOR
2007IMPROVEMENTS ASRECOMMENDED BYTHE CITY
ENGINEER;
*APPROYAL OF PARTIAL PAYREQUEST TO QUALITY
RESTORATION FOR 20077MPROVEMENTS ASRECOMMENDED
BYTHE CITY ENGINEER;
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
SANITARY The City Administrator reported that it appears that the installation of
SEWER City watermain along Edgerton Street in 1993 has caused a sag in the
REPAIR - sanitary sewer service line at 2930 Edgerton Street. The City Engineer
2930 obtained two quotes for the needed repair work with the low quote
EDGERTON submitted by Kevitt Excavating in the amount of $14,841.75. The City
STREET Administrator indicated that given the high cost involved, he discussed the
matter with the City Engineer and it is felt that significant savings could
be achieved if the work is combined with other City work. The
Administrator reported that City staff would like the opportunity to try to
negotiate a lower price with one of the contractors currently working in
the City. If a lower price cannot be obtained, another option would be to
delay the repair until next summer and include it in 2008 Improvement
work.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION N0.2007-9-216 -TABLING ACTION ON THE
QUOTES RECEIVED FOR SANITARY SEWER SERVICE
REPLACEMENT AT 2930 EDGERTON STREET AS REQUESTED
BYTHE CITYADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
2008 The City Administrator noted that the City held a workshop meeting just
PRELIMINARY prior to this evening's Council meeting to review the preliminary 2008
BUDGET Budget. The Administrator noted that a 0% Net Levy increase was
discussed at that workshop meeting given the City's unexpected allocation
of $225,000 in Local Government Aid (LGA). The Administrator
reported that while this is good news to the City, given the volatile nature
of LGA over the years, the City may or may not continue receiving LGA.
