MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 26, 2007 <br />RESOL UTION NO.2007-3-76 -RENEWING EMPLOYEE HEALTH <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE WITH HEALTHPARTNERS OPEN <br />ACCESS I5-80% PLANAS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR, FINANCE DIRECTOR, AND CITY CLERK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Blesener noted the City Administrator's request to opt out of City health <br />insurance, and the fact that his doing do would save the City premium <br />costs given that his contract calls for the City to pay 100% of the cost of <br />family coverage. Blesener indicated that this would require a contract <br />amendment. Blesener suggested that the amendment provide for 100% of <br />the cost of family health insurance if the City Administrator is covered by <br />the City's health insurance plan, or compensation of 80% of what that City <br />cost would be. The amendment should allow the City Administrator the <br />choice of City provided family health insurance or the 80% <br />reimbursement, whichever he chooses. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2007-3-77-AMENDING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT RELATIVE TO <br />HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE PROVIDING FOR CITY <br />PROVIDED FAMILYHEALTH INSURANCEAT NO COST TO THE <br />CITYADMINISTRATOR OR 80% OF THAT COST INADDITIONAL <br />COMPENSATION UPON RECEIPT OF PROOF OF INSURANCE, <br />AS THE CITYADMINISTRATOR SO CHOOSES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />STREET The City Administrator reviewed the recommendation of the Public <br />SWEEPING Works Superintendent to award the low quote received fi•om Pearson <br />QUOTES Brothers for 2007 street sweeping. He noted that Pearson Brothers did the <br />2006 street sweeping and did an excellent job. The Administrator noted <br />that the cost is $1 per hour more than last year's cost, and $20 per hour <br />less than the next lowest quote. <br />Keis noted the hourly rates quoted, and asked how the number of hours is <br />controlled, thus ensuring that the City is getting good value for the service <br />17 <br />
