MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 23, 2007
Johansen indicated that it was his understanding that the City found most
of the uses on Hom's list to be acceptable.
The City Planner indicated that under a PUD Zoning, the City would draft
an ordinance outlining what would be allowed on the property. The basis
of that ordinance would be the B-W District standards with some
additional and specifically defined uses.
Blesener indicated that it would be his understanding that the proof of
parking and comprehensive sign plan as proposed would remain the same
under the PUD District. Keis asked the Council would still act on the
applications before it this evening if the direction is to rezone to PUD
District. The City Planner suggested that the Council act on these
applications in order to give the applicant some confidence in the direction
that the City is moving. The next step would be to work toward the PUD
District.
Allan asked if there will be exterior improvements made to the building.
Johansen replied that there would be substantial exterior improvements.
Design work will begin on the building once Hom Furniture knows how
much flexibility in tenant use the City will allow.
There was no one else present from the general public wishing to
comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Allan, seconded by Montour, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.2007-5-124 -APPROVING THE FOLLOWING
RELATIVE TOHOMFURNITUREAT3201 COUNTRYDRIVE:
TEXT AMENDMENT AMENDING SECTION 913.020 OF THE
ZONING ORDINANCE RELATING TO PERMITTED USES IN THE
BUSINESS-WAREHOUSING (B-W) DISTRICT AS PROPOSED BY
THE CITY PLANNER IN HIS APRIL 9, 2007 REPORT WITH THE
ADDITION OF THE PERMITTED USE "RETAIL SALES OF HOME
IMPROVEMENT GOODS AND SERVICES";
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR PROOF OF PARKING
SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE CITY PLANNER AS OUTLINED IN HIS REPORT DATED
APRIL 9, 2007;
