Apri17, 2008 <br />PROPOSED TRAIL PROJECTS <br />City of Little Canada <br />Centerville Road/County Road D <br />10,000 lin. ft. @ $25.00/If = $250,000 <br />o This project should be completed as part of the reconstruction of Centerville Road <br />o The County Road D trail should connect to the new Maplewood Trail on the <br />realigned County Road D <br />2. Power Line Trail/Payne Avenue to Pioneer Park <br />35001in. ft. @ $25.00/lf = $ 87,500 - Tunnel = $100,000 <br />o The City of Little Canada should continue to seek the cooperation of adjacent <br />property owners to allow this trail connection to continue. <br />3. Waterworks Trail/Railroad Crossing <br />1,000 lin. ft. @ $25.00/lf = $25,000 - Tunnel = $100,000 <br />o The City of Little Canada should continue to seek the cooperation of the railroad <br />to allow a trail crossing. <br />o An on-grade crossing would probably be adequate; however, a tunnel would be <br />possible if required. <br />4. Rice Street Trail <br />13,000 lin. ft. @ $25.00/-f = $325,000 <br />o The City of Little Canada should continue to work with the joint planning group <br />to ensure appropriate bicycle and pedestrian accommodations as part of the Rice <br />Street corridor improvements. <br />o Bicycle advocates favor on-sheet bicycle lanes with off-street pedestrian walks. <br />o The Rice Street/Highway 36 Bridge should provide pedestrian walks on both <br />sides. <br />5. North/South Connection -Middle School to Troutbrook <br />4,000 lin. ft. @ $25.00/lf = $100,000 - Pedestrian Bridge over 36 = $1,000,000 <br />o This project will require the cooperation of the City of Little Canada, Saint Jude <br />Medical, MnDOT and the City of Maplewood. <br />o The project would provide a bicycle and pedestrian corridor connecting the north <br />suburbs with Saint Paul. <br />6.
