I4ie
anada
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.little-can ada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: June 22, 2015
RE:
Recertification of Deferred Assessment
132 Demont Ave. #139 - $22,219.52
MAYOR
John Keis
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
Michael McGraw
Tom Fischer
Christian Torkelson
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R, Hanson
The owner of the above condo unit has informed me that while she is currently renting this unit,
that rental has to cease by December 1, 2015. The Canabury Square Condominium Association
only allows a certain percentage of the condos to be rental units. The owner was not aware that
she could not rent her unit at the time the rental began, and has now informed the renter that they
have to vacate by December 1, 2015.
This owner indicated that she will move back into her unit and will likely try to sell it. Due to
her financial situation, she has asked that her deferment continue in effect for the time being.
This owner has indicated that she will keep me informed of the status of the property.
It would be staff's recommendation that the Council not proceed with the recertification of the
deferred assessment at this time. Staff will monitor the status of this property and bring the
matter back to the Council at a future date. It should be noted that interest continues to accrue on
this assessment while it is in deferred status.
2
