MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />January 4, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 4°i day of January, 2007 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice-Chair <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />ELECTION Neis nominated Tony Mans as chair of the Parks & Recreation Commission. Davis seconded <br />OF OFFICERS the nomination. There being no other nominations, Tony Mans was unanimously appointed as <br />chair. <br />Fleischhacker nominated Pam Davis as vice-chair of the Parks & Recreation Commission. <br />Steinwall seconded the nomination. There being no other nominations, Pam Davis was <br />unanimously appointed as vice-chair. <br />MINUTES Mans pointed out that there is a proposed correction to the minutes from last month's meeting. <br />Page 2, paragraphs #2 and 3 should be changed as follows to more accurately depict what was <br />conveyed at the meeting: <br />"Sanders felt that the Commission should accent the easterly uortion of Outlot "B" as the <br />park charge for the development. He stated that the Commission should accept the land <br />with the hopes of developing a trail connection in the future. The easterly uortion is <br />prefen~ed for a trail due to its higher elevation. Even though there is a chance that the <br />additional properties needed may not be able to be acquired, if the Commission ap sses <br />on this parcel, there is definitely no way that a trail would ever be able to be developed <br />through this beautifully, wooded area. He indicated that there is potential for a verv nice <br />connection, although there are hurtles to cross. <br />Fleischhacker recommended accepting land in lieu of cash for the park charge ot¢ the <br />Canadian Woods develounaenl, and indicated that tlae land desired is the easterly <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
