MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEF,TING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />Apri15, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 5°i day of April, 2007 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice-Chair <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Kris Peclnnan, Recording Secretary <br />MUTES Davis recommended that the mi~autes from the meeting held on February 1, 2007 be approved <br />as submitte~G <br />Motion seconded by Falzey. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />CANADIAN Mans stated that the compromise on the Canadian Woods park charge that was discussed at a <br />WOODS previous Commission meeting was approved by the City Council at their February 14, 2007 <br />meeting. However, developer Pat Johnson has asked for an extension on his final plat approval <br />until June 20, 2008. <br />Mans asked if the city will be reviewing its current park charge for a possible increase. The <br />Director stated that staff has been researching the matter and will be presenting a couple of <br />different options for approval to the Commission at their next meeting. <br />ARBOR The Director stated that the Arbor Day celebration is scheduled on Friday, April 20, 2007, at <br />DAY 1:00 p.m. This event is held at Spooner Park's lower shelter and all Commissioners are invited <br />to attend. <br />BIKEWAY Ray Borens of Shoreview appeared before the Commission to express interest in creating a <br />PROPOSAL north/south trail connection that would connect the northern suburbs to Saint Paul. He handed <br />out a proposal from the Shoreview Green Community Transportation Committee for the <br />Commission to review. He indicated that they would like to see abike/pedestrian bridge that <br />crosses Highway 36, possibly in the area of St. Jude Medical. He felt that St. ,hide's may be <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
