MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 4, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10'x' day of October, 2007 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice-Chair <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />_ _iNUTES Jim Morelan introduced Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary, who will be replacing Kris <br />Pechmann, who has anther commitment on Thursday nights. Dotty has been an employee for <br />the City for 5-1/2 years as the Accoun ting Technician. <br />Neis recommended that the nzizzutes from the zneetizzg held on September 6, 2007 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Davis. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />WHISPERING Steve Benning with Rim Lake Construction was present to discuss the lots and tree preservation <br />PINES for the Whispering Pines development. Benning stated that every effort was being made to save <br />as many of the large pine trees as possible. There also will be a row of trees retained on the <br />north side of the development to provide a buffer for the existing homes. <br />Because of the shape and land lock of the development Benning requested a per lot park charge <br />instead of a donation of land for a park. <br />Benning continued to explain that they are recommending a culdesac versus a through street <br />because there is not a connection to a street on the north with Thunder Bay Road also ending in <br />a culdesac. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
