MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTLMTB1R 26, 2012 <br />Keis suggested that it would be helpful to have a list of annotating and <br />storage apps. Boss indicated that some level of training would also be <br />good, Heiser agreed that both could be provided. <br />Montour suggested that the next steps would be to research and develop a <br />policy, determine a delivery procedure as well as frequency and amount of <br />stipend. The Administrator indicated that if it is the consensus of the <br />Council that the City should move to a paperless agenda, staff will put a <br />recommendation together. <br />Heiser suggested that given the amount of information the City already <br />has on Laserfiche, he would suggest consideration of that program for the <br />delivery method, <br />The Administrator indicated that staff would put together a <br />recommendation to the Council by the end of the year. The consensus was <br />that the recommendation be modeled after St, Anthony's, <br />SOCIAL The City Administrator noted that one of the recommendations from the <br />MEDIA 2011 Goal Setting Session was to "Upgrade the City's Website/Social <br />Media", With regard to the website, the Administrator noted that the <br />design is based on GovOffice, which somewhat limits layout options, <br />However, City staff is constantly reviewing the website to ensure that <br />information is timely and accurate, He reviewed the history of the <br />development of'the website, pointing out that Little Canada was a beta site <br />in the development of GovOffiee by Avenet, Boss indicated that it <br />appears the calendar on the website is not up-to-date and is missing <br />information, Keis suggested that alt City meetings be included in the <br />calendar. The City Administrator indicated that he would look into those <br />issues, Montour suggested that the home page notification that the City's <br />newsletter is available include the date of the most current newsletter so <br />the issue available is easily identifiable, <br />Keis ranked the City's website was good to above.average, With regard <br />to Facebook and Twitter, Keis indicated that he was not sure he wanted to <br />go that direction. Heiser indicated that there are challenges, in general, <br />with keeping websites up-to-date, Adding Faeebook and Twitter present <br />additional challenges. Heiser indicated that cities generally need full-time <br />communications personnel to keep these sooial media outlets current, <br />Heiser also pointed out that people need access to the Internet to use any <br />of these social media tools. Heiser pointed out that the City of Roseville <br />does not have a Faoebook page, It does have a Twitter account, but people <br />utilizing Twitter to contact the city are referred to its website, Heiser <br />stated that there are challenges for small organizations to keep social <br />media outlets current, and felt that resources were bettor directed to <br />3 <br />
