Prior to non-renewal of Valor's Motor Vehicle Sales License <br />(indoor), five such licenses existed. Valor is asking that the City go <br />back to that situation. Griffith felt that were the City Code allows a <br />particular use, the City's licensing procedure cannot be in conflict <br />with that use. <br />8. Condition can be met. <br />Open and Outdoor Storage CUP: <br />Griffith indicated that the auto repair use is a permitted use in the I-1 <br />Zoning District. He noted that auto storage is related to the auto repair use, <br />and as an accessory use supported by a permitted use, should be allowed in <br />conjunction with the auto repair license. Griffith indicated that businesses <br />conducting auto repair need some place to park the cars that they are <br />working on. He went on to comment relative to each of the City Planner's <br />points in his January 5°i report. <br />I. Not an issue. <br />2. Condition met. <br />3. Condition met. <br />Griffith then went on to review the City Planner's recommendation outlined <br />on page 6 of the January 5th report. <br />CUP for retail auto sales: <br />1. Cn•iffith indicated that a portion of the lot is paved, and if the City <br />would like additional paving, this could be made a condition of <br />approval. <br />2. Condition can be met. <br />3. Griffith indicated that he has addressed the issue of the 5th retail auto <br />sales license in his earlier discussion. Griffith suggested that the <br />City go back to allowing 5 licenses through a text amendment. <br />CUP for outdoor storage: <br />1. Griffith indicated that the City has made the determination that <br />Class V is acceptable surfacing material throughout the I-1 District. <br />Unless there is a change in Code, this long practice should continue. <br />Different standards should not be applied to different properties. <br />2. Condition can be met. <br />Griffith indicated that for the reasons stated, it is request that the <br />Conditional Use Permits for outdoor storage and motor vehicle retail sales <br />license (outdoor) should be approved subject to any reasonable conditions <br />that the City feels necessary to place on the CUP's.
