1. (a) The new addition we are applying for is 10x24. We feel that by scaling
down our current plans to less than 10 feet would not give us sufficient space
as well being cost effective.
(b) The 1958 Rambler design was built with the kitchen located in the front
of the house with a stairway to a fmished basement located directly behind the
kitchen.
After meeting with our design firm the determination to be the most cost
effective with the space that we desire, we would need our addition to reflect
the recommended footage.
(c) The addition would be approximately 10 feet to the South and
approximately 24 feet to the East and West. To the west we have a large pine
tree which would partially block the addition from that direction. In addition,
our home currently has an "L" shaped brick planter which extends out from
our house approximately 10 feet.
2. We bought the house 14 years ago this August, at the time there was an old
wood deck extending out the front of the house that was taken down a year
after we moved in. Where the deck was originally located is where in part the
addition would be, therefore the front of our home will be more appealing and
blend in with the other homes in our area.
