Shawnee Soapmaker, ~L~C
Jill Andert
2340 E. Shawnee Dr.
North St. Paul, MN 55109
651-747-8065
soaplady@shawneesoapmaker.com
Oct. 19, 2007
City of Little Canada
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Jill Andert, and I have been operating a soapmaking business out of
my home in N. St. Paul for the past 5+ years (internet-based). I also do massage
therapy at a spot in St. Paul (I rent a room from Wellspring Therapeutic
Massage.) I graduated over a year ago, am licensed in the city of St. Paul, and I
hold national certification through ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage
Professionals). Ihave outgrown the soap kitchen in my basement. It has been
my dream to combine the two businesses (Shawnee Soapmaker, LLC and
Intuition Massage Therapy) under one roof.
I understand the City of Little Canada currently only allows one massage therapy
license. I would like to propose a text amendment to increase the number of
principal massage therapy licenses to two. The massage will be part of an
established business. I make natural soaps and body care. Massage body work
is also natural.
In order to better serve my customers, I need retail space. I would like to rent a
unit at Thunder Bay Plaza on Little Canada Road to do soapmaking (production
and retail) along with therapeutic massage. I also teach soapmaking classes and
aromatherapy workshops.
I feel the city will benefit because this will add to the commercial aspect of Little
Canada. I will also be adding jobs as my business continues to grow. Please
allow me to be a part of your community.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
ill Andert
