MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 28, 2005
PARK CHARGE The City Administrator reported that currently the City's Code only
FOR requires the collection of a park charge on commercial properties when
COMMERCIAL a subdivision is involved. The Parks & Recreation Commission is
PROPERTIES recommending that the Code be changed to require a park charge on the
development of all commercial properties, regardless of whether a
subdivision occurs or not.
The City Attorney reported that State Law requires that a subdivision be
part of a commercial property development in order to trigger the
requirements for a park charge. Therefore, the City does not have the
authority to amend the Code as recommended.
2
-9-
