MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />December 1, 2005 <br />.IMMUNITY The Director stated that the company that will be conducting the survey has met with city staff <br />SURVEY to review ideas. Sackett Glaser attended this meeting on behalf of the Commission. Another <br />draft of the survey will be presented to the city and the company will meet with city staff again. <br />It is anticipated that the survey will be done sometime this spring. Parks should be well covered <br />within the survey. <br />MEMBERS The Director stated that Broten and Larson have decided not to reapply for the Commission. He <br />thanked them for their service the past six years and encouraged them to attend the Christmas <br />party on December 29°i where they will be presented with a Certificate of Appreciation. He <br />stated that Clara Neis has already been appointed by the Council to fill one of the vacancies. <br />We are still accepting applications for the other position. <br />OTHER Broten encouraged the Commission to continue to pursue a walking path on Little Canada Road <br />from I35E eastward. He also commented that he is not in favor of a hmnel under Edgerton <br />Street. <br />DIRECTOR'S The Director reported on the following items: <br />REPORT <br />The cun~ent youth registration flyer was distributed to the Commission. Hockey skills has <br />been added as a new activity. <br />A request has been received to add a park shelter with picnic tables to Gervais Mill Park due <br />to the number of people who enjoy eating lunch in that location. Sackett Glaser was <br />concerned that a shelter would take away from the beauty of this natural park. However, she <br />felt that picnic tables could be added. The Director stated that this spring, he will have parks <br />maintenance place a few picnic tables. This item will be monitored to see just how much <br />use the tables will receive. <br />• The warning tracks have been installed at Pioneer Park. <br />ADJOURN Broten recommended that t1:e areetdng be adjourned <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 4 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
