MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL & PLANNING COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA JANUARY 10, 2008 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a joint workshop meeting of the City Council and the Planning Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 10~' day of January, 2008 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener Council Member Ms. Barb Allan Council Member Mr. John Keis Council Member Mr. Michael McGraw Council Member Mr. Rick Montour PLANNING COMMISSION: Chair Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Commissioner Mr. Dan Knudsen Mr. Scott Barraclough Mr. Tom Duray Mr. Jon Hall Mr. Jeff Helmeke Mr. Chuck Pechmann ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel Hanson City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman Code Enf. Officer Ms. Jessica Jagoe City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer The purpose of this evening's workshop is to review R-1 Platting Standards, I-1 Zoning Standards, as well as open planning items. Mayor Blesener noted that with regard to I-1 Zoning Standards, it was the Council's intent to develop a draft document outlining proposed changes which would then be reviewed at a separate workshop with the owners in Ryan Industrial Park. R-1 Mayor Blesener opened discussions by listing some of the issues that PLANNING the Council has been encountering with single-family plats. Those issues STANDARDS are cul-de-sac length, lot sizes, and lot width. As a result of these issues, the Council has declared a moratorium on the processing of new single- family plats in order to provide time to study the issues and make changes to the Code as determined necessary. Blesener noted his suggestions for
