MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 69 2026 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 6th day of May 2026 in the Conference Room of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Tom Fischer called the meeting to order at 6:46 p.m. and the following members of the <br />City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Fischer, Council Members Kwapick, Malone and Miller. Absent: <br />None. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Bryce Shearen. <br />REVIEW CITY COUNCIL APPLICATIONS <br />The City Administrator explained that Council Member Gutierrez has resigned effective March <br />25, 2026. He stated that since there is less than two years left in her term, the City Council must <br />appoint a replacement. He stated that the City utilized an application process and reported that <br />eleven applications were received, and tonight the Council will review the applications, discuss <br />perspectives as a group, decide how many candidates to invite for a final interview, and choose <br />who those will be. <br />The applicants for the City Council (in alphabetical order) were: Jonathan Chalmers, Taelor <br />Johnson, Kevin Keenan, Shawn Koch, Lee Ann Lehto, Teresa Miller, Mike Mui, Michael <br />Petruconis, Tom Ray, Nick Schwalbach, and Katelyn Sindt. <br />Mayor Fischer began the discussion by expressing appreciation for all 11 candidates who <br />applied. He led a discussion to review each applicant's qualifications, experiences, and fit for the <br />role. This was followed by a discussion to narrow the pool and reach a consensus on the finalists. <br />After much discussion, there was a consensus to interview two candidates on Wednesday, May <br />20, 2026. Those candidates were (in alphabetical order): Mike Mui and Nick Schwalbach. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m. <br />0-01 <br />Thomas Fischer, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />H i i feller, City Clerk <br />
