MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />DECEMBER 12, 2024 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 12th day of December, 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> <br />Chair Taelor Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Boe-Schmidtz, Carlson-Clark, Johnson, Masrud, and Thorson. <br />Absent: Haluptzok, Kulousek, and Lum. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Community Development Director Ben Harrington <br /> <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as presented. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Commissioner Boe-Schmitz made a motion to approve the November 14, 2024, Planning <br />Commission minutes as submitted. Commissioner Carlson-Clark seconded the motion. The <br />motion was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />No comments. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE 1436 – ORDINANCE #906 – INTERIM USE PERMITS <br />The Community Development Director presented a draft ordinance related to Interim Use <br />Permits (IUP). He provided background information, noting that the City Attorney has <br />recommended allowing cannabis uses as an Interim Use to provide the City with the maximum <br />number of tools for regulation. He reviewed the process proposed for an IUP and the potential <br />expiration terms for an IUP. He stated that staff recommends that the Commission recommend <br />approval of the ordinance, which will move forward to the City Council at its December 18th <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carlson-Clark asked if the Commission should provide information on the <br />potential expiration.
