The candidate 66 <br />coming forward from that process is Nan Jia and staff is recommending that she be hired as a 67 <br />temporary intern for a period of six months. He noted that the position is funded through the Anoka 68 <br />County SCORE Program. 69 <br /> 70 <br />Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the hiring as recommended. Council Member Maher 71 <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 72 <br />3B) Consider Labor Agreement with Local No. 49 - Administrator Karlson explained that staff 73 <br />has reached a tentative agreement with this labor group representing certain city employees. He 74 <br />briefly reviewed the terms of the proposed agreement. This would be the last contract to be settled 75 <br />for the current period and it will be for a two-year period. 76 <br />Mayor Reinert remarked that it is notable to have all the labor union agreements in place this soon 77 <br />and for a two year period. A certain approach was used and he believes that is the result. 78 <br />Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the contract as presented. Council Member Manthey 79 <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 80 <br />3C) Consider Financial Support for Yellow Ribbon Network - Administrator Karlson noted 81 <br />that the council discussed a $500 contribution to this group at their last work session. The group is 82 <br />working to create a Yellow Ribbon Network within this city. 83 <br />Mayor Reinert explained that this effort has been underway for some time and with the efforts of the 84 <br />group that’s come together to make this a reality, he’s hopeful a proclamation will occur in October. 85 <br />Council Member Maher moved to approve the financial support for the Yellow Ribbon Network 86 <br />group as presented. Council Member Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. 87
