1 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br /> Alex McKenzie, Community Development Intern <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: August 22, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Public Hearing: Consider 1st Reading of Ordinance No. 08-16, <br />Vacating Drainage and Utility Easements, Outlot B and Outlot D <br />of The Village No. 3. <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 4/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council’s consideration of Ordinance No. 08-16, vacating the drainage <br />and utility easements on Outlot B and Outlot D as dedicated on the plat of The Village No. 3, <br />according to the recorded plat thereof, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />D.R. Horton, Inc. is proposing a development (Woods Edge) on the site of The Village No. 3, <br />Outlots B and D. The parcels are located north of the YMCA and south of I-35W. The <br />development will include 112 attached townhome units on 11.2 acres. The applicant has <br />submitted a land use application requesting the vacation of drainage and utility easements of <br />Outlot B and Outlot D, The Village No. 3. <br /> <br />The easement on Outlot B is over an existing watermain. This watermain is being relocated <br />under the private road (Outlot A, Woods Edge) and the easement no longer is needed. The <br />easement on Outlot D is over stormwater ponds and drainage areas. Drainage & utility <br />easements will be rededicated on the final plat of Woods Edge. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Ordinance No. 08-16. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
