CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 2C <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Sarah Cotton <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: September 26, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 16-120, Setting the Date and Time for a Public <br />Hearing for the Proposed 2017 Operating Budget and 2016 Tax <br />Levy, Collectible in 2017 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />All local government entities over 500 in population are required to hold a public hearing to <br />receive public input on the proposed levy and general operating budget. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 16-120 sets Monday, December 12, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. during the regularly <br />scheduled City Council meeting as the date for the City’s hearing. Final adoption of the <br />2016/2017 tax levy and 2017 general operating budget is anticipated immediately following the <br />hearing. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 16-120. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Resolution No. 16-120
