CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16-77 <br /> <br />APPROVING A SPECIAL EVENT AND PARADE PERMIT FOR ETHAN’S REASON <br />5K RUN AND 1 MILE WALK, SEPTEMBER 10, 2016 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ethan’s Reason 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk, is planned for September 10, 2016; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 100% of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization, Ethan’s Reason, <br />which will be used to help to forward the mission of advancing research, education, and public <br />awareness of Batten Disease and rare diseases and to support individuals and families who have <br />been affected by Batten Disease and rare diseases. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Kristine Davies organizer of Ethan’s Reason has submitted an application for a <br />special event and parade permit in conjunction with the event; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department has conducted a background investigation of the <br />applicant, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said permit application was reviewed for compliance with the City of Lino Lakes <br />for safety considerations by city administration, public safety and public works divisions; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, <br />Minnesota: <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby approves the special event, parade/run applications for the 2016 <br />Ethan’s Reason 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk subject to ongoing efforts to ensure proper safety, and <br />related issues. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of August, 2016. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member <br />_____________and was duly seconded by Council Member __________ and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />The following voted against same: <br /> <br />_____________________ <br />Jeff Reinert, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />Julianne Bartell, City Clerk
