October 24, 2016 <br />88 <br />89 <br />90 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />91 <br />92 3A) Consider Six -Month Employment Extension for Community Development Intern — City <br />93 Administrator Karlson stated that staff is recommending extension of an internship position held by <br />94 Mr. Alex McKenzie. The city has generally extended these intern positions through a one-year <br />95 period. Council Member Manthey noted that he understands that having a position such as this helps <br />96 cities bring in development and follow current activities. <br />97 <br />98 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve the employment extension as recommended. Council <br />99 Member Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />100 <br />101 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />102 <br />103 4A) Item 4A was removed from the agenda, to be discussed at the November work session. <br />104 <br />105 PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />106 <br />107 There was no report from the Public Services Department. <br />108 <br />log COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />110 <br />111 6A) Consider Resolution No. 16435, Approving Third Amendment to PUD Development <br />112 Stage Plan/Preliminary Plat for Century Farm North — City Planner Katie Larsen reviewed the <br />113 written staff report outlining a staff recommendation to approve an amendment allowing sideyard <br />114 setbacks for this development to become seven and one-half feet on each side. The current city <br />115 requirement would be ten feet. She showed the council a rendering of the proposed homes and <br />116 showed figures representing house plans. She reviewed the Planning and Zoning Board approval of <br />117 this development. This change will actually allow for a more marketable product for this <br />118 development. The developer had a conflict and was not able to attend. <br />119 Council Member Kusterman moved to approve Resolution No. 16-135 as presented. Council Member <br />120 Manthey seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />121 613) Consider Resolution No. 16437, Adopting Special Assessment, Individual Utility <br />122 Connections -City Engineer Hankee explained that Items 6B through 6H relate to the adoption of <br />123 special assessments. Item 6B specifically relates to individual properties that have water available to <br />124 them and where the property owner choses to connect and pay for the work required. Ms. Hankee <br />125 reviewed the properties under consideration, explaining the location and amount of each. The other <br />126 assessment items (6C through 6H) relate to charges for municipal utilities associated with private <br />127 development and city local improvement projects. <br />128 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve Resolution No. 16-137 as presented.
