Evironmental Board <br />September 28, 2016 <br />Page 3 <br />Wetlands <br />The project does not appear to be impacting any wetlands. <br />Floodplain <br />There is Zone A floodplain along the east side of the site but there are no impacts. <br />Trees Preservation <br />Recommend moving the Arbor Day trees. In order to save the Arbor Day trees from <br />destruction, it is proposed to move these trees out of grading area <br />Ms. Klebba asked if moving the Arbor Day trees is feasible. <br />Mr. Mantel said yes it has been mentioned by Marty and also the school district. They <br />will be talking to the contractor about moving the trees to a safe location until the <br />construction is done. <br />Landscaping <br />Proposed landscape plants (trees and shrubs) are all appropriate plant materials. <br />Native seed mixes for the pond and upland areas must be approved by the city. <br />Recommend a short native mix for the upland area. <br />Ms. Andrzejewski motioned to forward the Lino Lakes Elementary School site plan to <br />the Planning and Zoning Board and City Council with our recommendations and <br />comments. It was seconded by Ms. Kaufenberg. Motioned carried 5-0. <br />6. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Birds in our Backyard <br />Mr. Heiskary thought that it was a good presentation and nice to see extra people in <br />the audience. <br />Ms. Kaufenberg said it was very informative. <br />B. Peltier Lake Drawdown, Update <br />There has been two slabs of the dam removed, but now with the addition rain the lake <br />has now risen to the top of the dam. <br />Mr. Heiskary said that the shoreline is where the majority of the curly weed is <br />saturated. So just to get the shore line exposed is great. <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />
