Recent Development

Economic Development

The economic development effort established by the City Council in 1993 has begun to have an impact in
the diversity of the City’s tax base. Since 2001, four industrial parks have been established, and the
Apollo Business Park on Interstate 35W has been occupied. Marshan Industrial Park on Lake Drive and
Clearwater Creek Development Center on Interstate 35E have also brought new industrial users to the
City. Lino Lakes Marketplace, located at Lake Drive and Apollo Drive in the Town Center area, has
continued to develop. The commercial retail center includes Target; Kohl’s Department Store;
Dairy Queen Grill ‘n Chill; Discount Tire; a branch of Wells Fargo Bank, National Association; and
SMW Credit Union. Three retail buildings of approximately 6,000 square-feet each have been added to
the area.
