<br />WS – Item #2 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Date: December 5, 2016 <br /> <br />To: City Council <br /> <br />From: Katie Larsen, City Planner <br /> <br />Re: Rush Line Corridor Presentation <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Mike Rogers, Transit Project Manager for the Ramsey County Regional Railroad <br />Authority, will be giving a presentation and update on the Rush Line Corridor. The Rush <br />Line Corridor is an 80-mile travel corridor between St. Paul and Hinckley, consisting of <br />23 urban, suburban, and rural communities linked by a common need to be mobile and <br />connected. This corridor is represented by the Rush Line Corridor Task Force. A Pre- <br />Project Development (PPD) Study is underway to analyze bus and rail transit alternatives <br />between Forest Lake and Union Depot in St. Paul. The study builds upon previous work <br />completed for the corridor and will identify as a recommendation route and transit type <br />for adoption as the corridor’s locally preferred alternative (LPA). <br /> <br />Information regarding the Rush Line Corridor was provided to the City Council in the <br />January 9, 2015 Weekly Report.
